It looks like they're dropping all pretense and hiring Tony Snow, a Fox News host, as the new White House press secretary. Josh Marshall quipped that this was less like a job change and more like an interdepartmental transfer.

Media Matters has been tracking Snow and posting a long list of Snow's errors, lies, and distortions (and then some more), including whoppers like Valerie Plame wasn't covert, that Evolution is just as shaky as Intelligent Design, that Kerry blamed troops for errors made in Iraq when he was clearly blaming Bush, as well as many other lies smearing Democrats and trying to cover up for Bush administration malfeasance.

On the other hand, Snow hasn't exactly been on Bush's side all the time, and when he's found himself to be in disagreement with Bush, he can be just as snotty, though predictably right-wing--he criticized Bush when Bush was not sufficiently hardcore enough for Snow's tastes. He has called Bush "politically correct," an "embarrassment," "more eager to please than lead," and has repeatedly criticized Bush for overspending.

So, this should be fun.

Isn't blaming the troops for Iraq what Condi Rice did in England? Imagine that, undermining the confidence of our troops while in a foriegn land!!!

Isn't that why the Generals have come out spoken now?

Iraq is heading for a collasal failure, what both the Generals and Rice were trying to do is better position themselves for posterity and history.

But history won't be so dumb. Bush & co will wear the albatross of failure for all posterity.
