Just a little photo note here whilst I convalesce. I had forgotten that, every year around Christmas, the local hilltop observation tower (currently closed to the public) gets lit up quite nicely for the holidays. It stays that way a bit past the New Year, but I will have to see to be reminded for how long. It's a lovely idea, and the only thing wrong with it is that they set the segments to flash on and off--it would be much better just to have them stay on, IMHO. Still, a nice gesture by the city (Hiromi opined that we must pay a lot in city taxes because of this, but frankly I don't see this costing quite that much) and a nice though temporary addition to the skyline.
